GEMFAN Powers the 9th MultiGP International Open: Sponsored Pilots Sweep the World Cup Top 10 as the MJ5129.2 Shines on the World's Biggest FPV Racing Stage

From June 10 to June 14, 2026, one of the most prestigious events in the world of FPV drone racing—the MultiGP International Open (IO)—was held in Muncie, Indiana, USA. Recognized as one of the largest and most influential FPV racing competitions globally, this year's event attracted more than 170 elite pilots from around the world, all competing for one of the highest honors in competitive drone racing.

As a long-time official MultiGP season sponsor, Gemfan Hobby Co., Ltd. proudly returned to the International Open, providing professional FPV props support for pilots worldwide while witnessing some of the most exciting racing action of the year.

Nine Years of Excellence in FPV Racing

Since its inception, the MultiGP International Open has been held annually for nine consecutive years, growing into one of the most influential events in the FPV racing community. For professional pilots, International Open is more than just a competition—it is one of the most important events on the annual racing calendar.

The 2026 edition spanned five days and featured a wide range of racing categories and skill levels. The event hosted eight dedicated race venues:

Main Stage

World Cup 1

World Cup 2

All Skills

Whoopville

SpecGo / Rookie

Tiny Trainer

Each venue served a unique purpose, including professional racing, spec-class competitions, rookie divisions, whoop racing, and training categories, creating a complete FPV racing ecosystem. Pilots from around the world competed across multiple disciplines, all with their sights set on the ultimate goal—the MultiGP World Cup Finals.

In addition to traditional racing formats, the event also featured the highly anticipated Build & Fly Race. Competitors were challenged to build a racing drone from scratch within a limited time before immediately taking it to the track, testing not only their flying skills but also their technical knowledge and equipment setup expertise.

The World Cup: One of the Highest Honors in FPV Drone Racing

As the centerpiece of the International Open, the MultiGP World Cup remained the most anticipated competition throughout the week.

After qualifying rounds and elimination heats, only the world's top 64 pilots advanced to the World Cup stage. Over several days of intense competition, pilots faced complex track layouts, high-speed gates, and demanding technical sections that pushed both equipment and pilot skill to the limit.

At this level of competition, even the smallest performance advantage can make the difference between victory and defeat. Flight controller tuning, motor performance, battery efficiency, and propeller performance are all magnified under race conditions.

For professional FPV racers, high-performance props determine more than just top speed. They directly impact corner exit acceleration, throttle response, consistency, and overall race rhythm.

This is why props remain one of the most critical components in competitive FPV drone racing.
