Most cable enquiries arrive the same way. A distributor has a project list in front of them, five or six construction types on it, and three suppliers who can only quote two of them. The gap between what a buyer needs and what a factory can actually run is where delivery schedules slip and margins disappear. Huzhou Xiongxin Wire and Cable Co., Ltd. exists on the other side of that gap: a specialist manufacturer in Zhejiang, China, producing power, control, computer, solar and specialty wiring under one roof since 2013.
One Sample Book, Seven Different Answers
The fastest way to understand a cable factory is to look at what it photographs. Our sample set runs from a 26/35 kV armoured three-core power cable down to a single-core flexible panel wire — and every construction in between is a distinct answer to a distinct installation problem.
Shielded computer and instrumentation cable — DJYPVPR 300/500V, 7×2×1.5 mm². Twisted pairs, colour-coded blue and black cores, an overall copper braid screen, and a black oversheath holding the bundle tight. This is the cable that keeps analogue and digital signal lines readable when variable-frequency drives, inverters and switching gear share the same cabinet or cable tray. The braid is the point: it drains induced noise to earth before it reaches the receiving end of the loop.
Fire-resistant control cable — NH-KVVP2-22 450/750V, 7×2.5 mm². Seven stranded copper conductors under yellow-coded insulation, a copper screen, steel tape armour and an outer sheath. The construction is designed to keep control circuits alive long enough for a controlled shutdown: fire alarm loops, pump panels, emergency lighting control, damper and valve actuation. The steel tape also gives mechanical protection in trays that run through plant rooms and risers.
Low smoke halogen-free wiring — WDZB-BYJR 450/750V, 2.5 mm². A single-core flexible cable with stranded copper conductor, yellow sheath, built for fixed wiring inside buildings where a fire must not produce dense acidic smoke. The low smoke, low halogen family is where specifications have moved fastest in the last decade, and it is one of the categories we develop most actively — including B1-class low smoke halogen-free compounds, low smoke low halogen variants, and flame-retardant, fire-resistant, screened and fluoroplastic high-temperature types.
Flexible copper wiring — BVR 450/750V, 4 mm². The green sheathed workhorse of panel building, switchgear assembly and building services. Stranded rather than solid, so it bends through tight enclosures without cracking the insulation at the terminal.
Solar cable — PV1-F 1000V, 2×4 mm². Twin-core construction with red and black polarity identification, filler, and a black outer sheath for outdoor DC string wiring on rooftop and ground-mount arrays. It is one of the most requested items from distributors serving the renewables market, and it sits alongside our broader solar and overhead insulated range.
Armoured XLPE power cable — YJV22 26/35 kV. Three copper conductors, XLPE insulation, copper screening tape, steel tape armour and a heavy black outer sheath, shown in cross-section in our sample set. This is the construction that carries distribution-level power into substations, industrial plants and utility networks where mechanical protection and moisture resistance are not optional.
Built to Standard, Then Built to Your Drawing
Every product above is manufactured to national and international standards. What matters more to an export buyer is the second half of that sentence: we also produce to customer specification. Conductor stranding, insulation compound, screen type, armour, sheath colour, drum length, printing and packing — the production line is set up to be configured, not just repeated.
Current production covers XLPE insulated power cable up to 1 kV, overhead insulated cable at 20 kV, 10 kV and 1 kV, electrical equipment wire, general rubber-sheathed cable, mining cable, welding cable, control cable, computer cable and aluminium stranded wire. Insulation options span PVC, PE, XLPE and specialty polymer compounds. Maximum conductor cross-section currently produced is 400 mm² in aluminium and 300 mm² in copper. Annual output capacity stands at one million kilometres.
Where the Quality Argument Actually Lives
Cable is a commodity until it fails. Then it becomes a liability claim. That is why the control system matters more than the price list.
Huzhou Xiongxin operates an in-house cable research institute and a quality testing centre, with full-process control running from raw material intake through to finished goods release. The quality management system is ISO 9001 certified. Occupational health and safety management is certified to GB/T 45001-2020 / ISO 45001:2018, covering the production and sale of wire and cable within the licensed scope. The company holds three-system certification, national compulsory product certification, production licensing and product test reports — the documentation package an importer needs before a container ships, not after.
The plant runs more than twenty sets of main production equipment and over ten sets of testing equipment, including a low-voltage cross-linking line and a flame-retardant and fire-resistant cable process that the company has refined through continuous technical upgrading. The stated quality policy is deliberately narrow: customer demand at the centre, production management as the foundation, continuous improvement of the quality system. Total assets stand at 75 million RMB across a 6,000 square metre facility, with roughly 30 employees, ten of them mid- and senior-level technical staff.
What Buyers Are Asking For in 2025
Three shifts show up consistently in enquiries from overseas distributors. First, documentation has become part of the product — buyers want test reports, certification scope and traceability before they want a quote. Second, fire performance has moved from a premium option to a baseline requirement in public buildings, tunnels and metro work, which is why low smoke halogen-free and fire-resistant constructions now dominate the specialty end of the range. Third, order mix is fragmenting: the same buyer wants 500 metres of shielded computer cable and 5 kilometres of armoured power cable on one shipment, and wants them consolidated on one set of drums.
A manufacturer with a broad construction range and a flexible line handles that. A trading intermediary does not.
Applications We Already Serve
Products from this factory go into power generation and distribution, information and communications, aviation, rail, automotive, home appliances, construction, petroleum, chemical processing, mining and metallurgy. The common thread is not the industry — it is the requirement that the cable arrive correct, documented and on schedule.
Talk to the Factory Directly
If you are sourcing for a project, stocking a distribution catalogue, or looking for an OEM partner who can hold a specification across repeat orders, send the construction, the voltage class, the core count and the cross-section. We will come back with the technical position and the documentation package.
